Jason Jeongseok Lee
Jason is a Founding Member and Managing Partner at Ascendo Ventures, specializing in investments in the technology sectors.
Jason's investment portfolio is diversified across key technology verticals. Notable current holdings include Grinergy, SBTL, ASET, TNE Korea, Agencore and Kenkoa enertech in the energy sector; WithRobot, Enerzai, and Alsemy in industrial AI; Aldaver, Pensees and ZTI biosciences in advanced materials; Lattice and Apt-i in the SaaS space.
His investment experience includes several high-profile successes. He was an early angel investor in VivaRepublica ("Toss"), joining in 2014 and serving on its Board of Directors until 2019. He was also an angel investor in Moloco, the adtech unicorn that is now backed by Tiger Global.
Jason began his venture capital career at LB Investment as a founding member of the firm's China-focused cross-border investment team. He then broadened his experience in corporate strategy at LS Holdings, where he developed and executed strategic plans for its subsidiary companies.
Following this, Jason led the corporate venture capital (CVC) team at Cheil Worldwide, a key subsidiary of the Samsung Group and Korea's largest advertising company. Leveraging this diverse background, he later co-founded and served as Managing Director of Bridge Alliance Partners, a Korea-based venture capital firm.
Jason earned a B.S. in EE, M.S. in IE from KAIST and Ph.D ABD in the School of Business from Kyunghee University.

Aaron Dongsuk Shin
Aaron is a founding member and Managing Partner at Ascendo Ventures, where he partners with ambitious entrepreneurs who are tackling difficult problems and driving significant, positive impacts on people's lives.
Aaron's current portfolio is notable for its diversity, including companies such as Caring, H-energy, FunNow, Medipixel, N-thing, Dalcomsoft, and Cloud Hospital.
Prior to co-founding Ascendo, Aaron served as an Asia Investment Partner at Formation 8. During this time, he became an early and influential investor in successful Korean tech companies, including MyMusicTaste (acquired by Com2US) and Lunit (Kosdaq: 328130). He also actively supported the global expansion of Formation 8's portfolio, notably Oculus (acquired by Facebook), Wish (Nasdaq: WISH), and NextVR (acquired by Apple).
Before Formation 8, Aaron was an Investment Professional at Softbank Ventures, focusing on early-stage startups across e-commerce, digital content, and other emerging technology sectors. Prior to this, Aaron worked as a consultant at Accenture, conducting a variety of projects including SCM planning, new business plan, CRM strategy, and purchasing strategy for large corporations in the industries of retail, consumer, and healthcare. Aaron began his career in South Korea as a lead engineer at NodeNIC, where he invented a patented domain lookup technology and led the core software development team.
Aaron holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Seoul National University in South Korea.

Jaejin Park
Jaejin is a partner at Ascendo Ventures. For over 2 years he has served as a head of “Kolmar Future Investment Group” in Kolmar Holdings Co., Ltd. Prior to that, he worked at Zenitas Investment for over 13 years as CEO.
Leveraging his proven track record in developing and scaling new businesses at Kolmar, he is now focused on building a venture capital strategy to invest in and cultivate the next generation of leading cosmetics companies.
Jaejin earned a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from KAIST and an MBA from Korea University.

Sera Kwon
Sera brings a valuable blend of experience in early-stage investment and financial analysis to her role as Investment Principal at Ascendo Ventures.
Sera is responsible for supporting a portfolio of companies across key growth sectors, including UglyLab and Reman_tobe (Environmental), Open Rhapsody (SaaS), and Innohas (Alternative Food).
Her expertise in nurturing startups was developed during her time as an Investment Principal at Bluepoint Partners, a prominent startup accelerator. Her foundational skills in finance were honed during her tenure as an Analyst at DB Securities.
Sera holds a B.S. in Management from Peking University.

Zian Kim
Zian is the fund administration team leader at Ascendo Ventures. Zian was previously a founding member of Mira Partners, a venture capital management company, and provided services that systematize the various tasks and requirements customary to fund management and operations in the Korean venture capital ecosystem. In particular, she has deep expertise in the venture capital and corporate tax fields. She also served as Gallup Clifton Strength Coaching “coach” and advisor, consulting to numerous startups on building strength-based organizational cultures.
Zian likes delicious food, jujitsu, and caring for her houseplant collection.

Jiwon Roh
Jiwon is a member of the fund administration team at Ascendo Ventures, where she primarily supports fund and portfolio management. Prior to joining Ascendo, Jiwon was a Manager at Seoul Startup Hub (Scale Up Center), where she provided investment and networking support to early stage startups. This experience fueled Jiwon’s passion for startups and her interest in venture capital.
Jiwon is an avid fan of movies and drama. Most of all, she is eagerly waiting for her baseball team, the Hanhwa Eagles, to win a baseball championship again (it’s been 25 years!).

Alex Namkung
Alex is working for Mars Auto, a US autonomous trucking solution company in Texas.
Alex collaborated to set up the early stage operation of new venture capital as a founding member, and now a venture partner of Ascendo Ventures.
Alex is originally from the American Midwest but spent his formative years in Kobe, Japan, after which he graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science (International Relations).
Alex loves his family, hip hop and jazz, futbol, and (Duke!) basketball.

Jerry Juyoung Yang
Jerry is a CEO of Lobster, an innovative integrated SNS service and also a venture partner at Ascendo Ventures.
Throughout his career, Jerry has proven his ability to make serial successes in TicToc and fintech unicorn Toss (Viva Republica) as a C-level executive and co-founder.
Jerry graduated from KAIST with a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Engineering.
